Amendments to Law on State Duty
1 / 1

At April 16 regular sitting, the Parliament presented by the Deputy Minister of Justice Vahe Danielyan debated the legislative initiative on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on State Duty authored by the Government in the second reading and for completely passing.

Amendments are due to the changes of the social-economic indicators which have changed four, five times in the last 20 years. Due to this, some amendments were implemented. A number of privileges were defined by the law, as well as the state duty was revised in some cases: it was increased. After the first reading, the proposals presented by the deputy Artur Davtyan were partially accepted. According to it, new privileges were given – servicemen or other citizens – in connection with the cases of missing or dead in the military actions. Those persons will be released from the state duty.

At the same time, the heirs of the dead as a result of the military actions will also be released from the state duty, when it comes to the cases of acceptance of an inheritance.

Artur Davtyan presented the endorsement of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. He noted that only he voted against the draft law in the first reading and presented proposals which were accepted. The deputy urged to vote for it.

The co-rapporteur, the member of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Sargis Khandanyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.
